Chelsea striker Diego Costa scored a brace against Southampton on Tuesday after several games without scoring a goal.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois revealed he is excited Costa got a goal against Southampton because for a striker, it is important to score goals.

“Obviously, for a striker it’s important to score goals,” Courtois told Chelsea’s official website.

“He hadn’t scored in a few games, so maybe he got a bit nervous, but I’m happy for him that he scored the two very nice goals on Tuesday.

“For the header, it was a great cross from Cesc, and he did well to get across his man and with the second one he created it himself with some nice play between him, Eden and Pedro, and it was a great finish.

“I hope we can take our form into Sunday. It’s the biggest game of the season so far in terms of importance, we want to get the three points and then win our home games to make sure we’re champions, that’s our goal.”
