Not every time you’d get to hear a player becoming a club owner while still playing the game, but that’s not the same for Chelsea legend Didier Drogba who recently announced that he’d be the co-owner of Phoenix Rising, who play in the United Soccer League – American soccer’s third tier.
When asked how he’ll balance being a player and a boss, he told Tubes on Sky Sport’s Soccer AM: “I’m 39, I’m not going to be playing at the same intensity as when I was 25. I’ll have time to learn the other part of this world.
On the kind of boss he’d be, he said: “No I think it is important to remember how you were as a player, to deal with emotions. Especially me, I’m an emotional guy!”
