Chelsea target Romelu Lukaku scored twice as Everton defeated champions Leicester City 4-2 at Goodison Park on Sunday.
The 23-year-old striker, who has scored 23 league goals already this season, has declined the offer of a new contract at Goodison Park after he hinted the Merseyside club’s ambition does not match his own.
Chelsea are favourites to re-sign the striker who left Chelsea for Everton three years ago though Chelsea will need to pay over £65million to secure the striker.
Following Everton’s 4-2 victory against Leicester City, Everton manager Ronald Koeman vowed he would do everything to keep Lukaku at Everton but he also acknowledged the final say is with Lukaku.
“Romelu Lukaku is one of the best strikers in the world and I think the boy is improving in different aspects,” he told BBC Sport.
“I can’t change him in how he needs to finish. In my opinion he’s the best finisher.
“Everybody knows he’s a key player for Everton and we will try to do everything to keep him here but the final decision is always with the player.
“Everyone knows he has his own ambition but we will try our best.”
Would Lukaku be an improvement on Diego Costa or should Chelsea stick with Costa and forget about signing Lukuka?
