FABREGAS: SATURDAY’S FA CUP SEMIFINAL CLASH WOULDN’T AFFECT THE TITLE RACE

Chelsea and Tottenham don’t have Premier League engagements this week, as both sides will be engaged in an FA Cup showdown on Saturday.

It is believed that a win for any of the teams will be a psychological boost in the title race, but Cesc Fabregas isn’t of the same opinion.

“No I don’t think so [the result will have a bearing on the league]. Because every competition in football is different – you need to focus on different things,” Fabregas told TalkSPORT.

“You are playing to be in a final. You’re not playing for three points, one point, or zero points – so there’s not really a connection in my mind and I think in my teammates’ mind, between the FA Cup and the league.

“It’s a big game on a great stage and hopefully we can go through.”

The semifinal clash against Tottenham will be played at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
