N’Golo Kante was crowned with the PFA Player of the Year award on Sunday night following an impressive outing so far this season, and while some Chelsea fans couldn’t contain their joy, and quickly took to social media to congratulate the French international, there are those who felt disappointed in the news, and refused to celebrate it because they felt that Eden Hazard should have been the one to win the prize.
While everyone is entitled to having an opinion, I think that it’s too unfair to Kante to say he didn’t deserve the prize he got.
Kante, just like Hazard has been very pivotal to every good thing that has happened to Chelsea this season. The stats clearly show that, and he keeps getting better. Hazard too, has been sensational this term, and he deserved to win the trophy, but he didn’t, Kante did, and that’s all that matters.
Don’t forget that these guys were up against the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane who have all been wonderful too. So rather than murmur and talk about who we think should have won, it’s important we appreciate the fact that the prize came back to Stamford Bridge. It could have gone elsewhere, and that wouldn’t have been good. Hazard or Kante; it doesn’t matter, really, all that matters is that Chelsea have it back.
