Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has already won two awards this season – the London Football Awards Premier League Player of the Year and the PFA Player of the Year award. The Frenchman is now in contention to be named the best overseas-based French player.
Kante, who was recently voted as the best player in the Premier League now has the chance to scoop another prize this season as he’s in the running for the yearly award in France, which is voted by the players in Ligue 1.
Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann, who won the award last year, is also in the running with Kante.
Borussia Dortmund winger Ousmane Dembele is also on the shortlist, as well as Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema.
