Chelsea have been linked with Everton striker Romelu Lukaku since last summer, but a move for the former Chelsea youngster didn’t materialise.
However, Chelsea are still interested in the Belgian and are reportedly plotting a move for his return.
Reports have it that the 23-year-old had rejected Everton’s offer of a new deal which is thought to be worth around £140,000 a week. He also spoke of an interest in playing in a top Champions League side and Everton manager Ronald Koeman has admitted that Lukaku doesn’t want to sign a new contract.
“He [Lukaku] told me he won’t sign a new contract,” Koeman said at his press conference on Thursday.
This might just prompt Chelsea to intensify efforts in landing the man who has scored 23 goals in the Premier League so far this season.
