Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has revealed Chelsea captain John Terry is reportedly unhappy with his lack of playing time under Antonio Conte.
36-year-old John Terry has started just four Premier League games under Conte this season and hasn’t started a Premier League game since Chelsea’s 2-2 draw against Swansea at the Liberty Stadium in September.
Conte has opted for David Luiz, Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta in his back three and his lack of rotation means Terry hasn’t had an opportunity to start a Premier League game for Chelsea since September.
“He’s obviously not happy [to take a back seat],” Lampard told Goals on Sunday.
“He wants to play but I spoke to him at the training ground a while ago and told him what a credit he is.
“At his age and stature at the club, he could sit back and not travel and look to the future.
“But he’s trained hard behind the scenes and I don’t think you can forget the influence John is having.
“He’s been a real credit to himself.”
