Chelsea defeated Tottenham 4-2 at the Wembley Stadium to progress to the finals of the FA Cup, and it wasn’t in any way an easy victory.

Chelsea toiled and laboured for the win, as Spurs kept coming back any time we went ahead, until a goal from Eden Hazard and Nemanja Matic settled the encounter.

Despite the loss in the FA Cup, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino was adamant that the result would have no bearing on the title race, with Chelsea leading Spurs by four points. He insisted that if they play Crystal Palace the same way they played Chelsea, then they’d win the game.

He said: ‘‘I think it’s not important. Tomorrow we will work on the training ground.

“I think if we play how we did today against Crystal Palace on Wednesday, we will be ok.”
