Chelsea captain John Terry came in as a late substitute during Chelsea’s 4-2 win over Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was full of praise for Terry.

“John is a really important player for us and he’s doing a great job this season,” Conte said.

“For sure it’s not easy for him because he’s not playing a lot. I want to say thanks to John but he knows my admiration for him. He’s helping me and the team, every single player.

“He always available to accept every one of my decisions. When you have this type of player you must be pleased. It will be a great loss next season to lose a player like him.”
