David Luiz was incredible against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup semifinal clash on Saturday, and the Brazilian who turned 30 on the same day was named as the man of the match, as Chelsea defeated Tottenham 4-2 to advance to the finals of the FA Cup.
Luiz admitted it was a huge win and that the team has turned attention to the next league game against Southampton.
“It was a big game, we knew it would be tough against fantastic players, but we are very happy because we won,” said David Luiz. “Now we think about the next challenge, against Southampton.
“The Premier League is a different competition, we know Spurs are a fantastic team and they won’t be too down just because they lost one game, so it will be difficult until the end.”
With the absence of Gary Cahill for the clash, and Conte deciding to rest Diego Costa and Eden Hazard, Luiz believes that everyone has the quality to play.
“Everybody belongs at this fantastic club, so it doesn’t matter who starts. Everybody has the quality to play.
“This was a tough game, against top players in a special competition so it was a great atmosphere for everybody. At the end of the day we are happy because we won against a fantastic team.”
