Chelsea midfielder and current PFA Player of the Year N’Golo Kante has been in terrific form for Chelsea this season, having only missed one league game to suspension.
The Frenchman has been a key player in Chelsea’s title charge and former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp believes Kante deserved to win the award and has said he has similar qualities to Chelsea legend Claude Makelele, Arsenal great Patrick Vieira and ex-Manchester United captain Roy Keane put together.
“Absolutely (he deserved to win the award),” he said on Sky Sports.
“He’s not your sexy player, he’s not Eden Hazard.
“He’s not one of those skilful players that we see.
“If you talk about great defensive midfield players, he’s Makelele, Keane and Vieira rolled into one.
“He’s a special talent and it’s so good to see him get rewarded by his peers.
“What a year he’s had. Incredible player.”
