Last summer, Willian was strongly linked with a move to Manchester United as Jose Mourinho started off his managerial job with United.

The Portuguese used Willian to great effect during his time as Chelsea boss and tried to sign him for United. The deal never materialised and Willian also confirmed that Mourinho indeed tried to lure him away.

With Willian having lost his starting role to Pedro, Mourinho will now try to sign the Brazilian again, and reports claim the Portuguese is confident that he’d get Willian this time due to his lack of playing time under Antonio Conte.

The Brazil international has started just 13 Premier League games this season and was disappointed when he was substituted on the hour mark against Tottenham in the FA Cup, despite having scored a brace. He also didn’t start the next game against Southampton and only entered the fray very late in the game.

ESPN report that Mourinho is confident he’d get the Brazilian this time and his lack of starting opportunities is the reason for Mourinho’s confidence.
