Despite winning our first three Premier League games of the season, Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has revealed Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wasn’t satisfied with Chelsea’s performances in the beginning of the season.
“At the start of the season things were a bit 50-50,” Azpilicueta told Daily Mail.
“We were winning but not convincing. I don’t think he [Conte] was completely satisfied, the team didn’t have the identity that he wanted, but since the change of system we’ve put a lot of work and got the results.
“The manager asked me about the possibility of me playing in a three. I had no worries about doing it because I knew that he would work with us on it, in training to the maximum.
“Antonio is a coach who is very keen on working on the tactical order in every session, with the emphasis always on being very together on the pitch. This change of system has helped get the best out of every individual.”
