On Wednesday at Stamford Bridge particularly during the first-half of our game against Manchester City, the Chelsea fans were in awe of what I call: ‘THE EDEN HAZARD SHOW’. The mercurial playmaker was central to the mind-blowing and well-executed display by Chelsea against Pep Guardiola’s side. He dazzled, dribbled and delighted the spectators with his skill set and scoring touch. In simple terms, he was absolutely amazing and has been since joining the club five years ago. His transfer fee of £32m is a real bargain considering the astronomical fee being paid for players of his status.

After suffering a setback in both form and fitness which made him a shadow of himself last term, the Chelsea No. 10 is back to his hazardous best. He has transformed from being the teenage sensation at Lille to a world-class player at Chelsea. His displays this season have caught the eyes of many, and worryingly for Chelsea – Real Madrid are looking to lure him away from our dynasty. Eden Hazard is Chelsea’s most valuable and a real game changer.

Here are 5 big games this season that confirm his status as world-class:

The Chelsea’s Belgian playmaker needed little introduction in this game to lead an onslaught on the blue boys from Merseyside. A rampaging and devastating end-to- end display with great attacking forte produced two goals and an assist. Certainly, one of his best displays in a blue jersey and one that will live long in the hearts of every Chelsea fan.

Prior to this game, the pre-match briefings were all centred on José Mourinho’s return to Chelsea and the response that would be accorded him after last season’s debacle. More so, there were reports on a rift between Hazard and the Portuguese Coach. The big question: Can Chelsea win Jose’s United? Responses and reactions were anticipated. As the game ticked on with Chelsea in a commanding lead, the Belgian popped up in almost every attacking area and was a huge threat to the United back line, often teasing and dribbling through the defence. Then came the moment in the second half of the game and in a flash, he picked up the ball around the United penalty box, darted and twisted with a sharp dribble. Then he stroked beyond the reach of United goalkeeper David De Gea to seal the win for Chelsea. It was the perfect response from the player and the club as we went to win 4-0.

Chelsea vs Arsenal is always a London Derby that often brings magic moments. We can remember Kanu Nwankwo’s inspired Arsenal comeback 3-2 win in 1997 which saw the striker score a goal from an impossible angle after evading the entire Chelsea defence. More so, the likes of Didier Drogba, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Thierry Henry have also made the headlines in this one of a kind derby. This season, Hazard looks to have added his name to the ‘derby-match game changers list’ with a classy display against the Gunners at the bridge this season. A superb solo goal scored inspired by a mazy run from the centre circle and then evading lot of challengers from their Gunners midfield and defence to beat Petr Cech was a real highlight of ingenuity. The Chelsea playmaker wowed every spectator, even Arsene Wenger.

In a game in which Chelsea had to win to reestablish our lead at the top and surely needed a star performance. The Belgian like a goldfish gave himself no hiding place as he smartly finished off an excellent team move to put Chelsea in the driving seat. His superb goal was a catalyst for our win against the Hammers. Another show of wowing skill set saw the playmaker control and amazingly pass the ball with his back. A great piece of skill from a great player.

Another eye-catching display from the playmaker saw him deliver on premium. Two well-taken goals to lead Chelsea from the front like the star player that he is confirms his indispensability to the club. His big game influence is overwhelming.

Chelsea may eventually win the title but the real title and deal will be keeping the playmaker at the club for many years to come. Let’s hope for the best. Cheers.
