Victor Moses missed the game against Crystal Palace, and his absence was badly felt as Pedro didn’t fully fill the shoes of the Nigerian at right wing-back.
The 26-year-old has been outstanding in his role at right wing-back and was really missed against the Eagles.
Moses missed the game against Palace due to the calf injury he suffered in Chelsea’s 1-0 FA Cup win over Manchester United on Monday, March 13. Although he played the next game against Stoke City, he didn’t look fit enough and was later substituted for Cesc Fabregas with 20 minutes left to play.
He missed out on the Super Eagles friendly game against Senegal on Thursday, March 27 because of the injury.
Conte hinted before the game against Palace that Moses was still a doubt. “It is important to check two or three situations and then to make the best decisions,” Conte said in his press conference on Friday, March 31.
The Chelsea boss also revealed after the game that Moses was sorely missed.
“Victor Moses is an important player because he’s having a great season but Pedro played very well in that wing-back position,” Conte said.
