Not too long ago, Arsene Wenger claimed that Arsenal are the only team in London, and now Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has taken it a bar higher by claiming that Spurs are even more popular than Chelsea and Arsenal.

According to The Sun, Pochettino told Cadena Ser in an interview: “I would love to be here for as long as possible because it’s a club with history, a club that is the most popular in London, more than Arsenal and Chelsea, I’m delighted here.

“Tottenham is a historic club at the same level as Manchester United and Liverpool.

“Three years ago when I started this project, the idea was to reduce the difference between us and the top four. We are ahead of our project.

“When you analyse the last two seasons, Tottenham has been the most consistent team in the Premier League.

“We have achieved more points than any other team the last two seasons.”

Surprisingly, ‘the most popular and historic team in London’ last won a title nine years ago – the League Cup in 2008.
