Outstanding is an understatement of the impact Cesar Azpilicueta has had for Chelsea this season. The 27-year-old has been so fit, committed and phenomenal that he has never sat on the Chelsea bench all through this season in the Premier League.
Azpilicueta has joined John Terry and Petr Cech as the only two players for the club to have played every single minute for the Blues in the past 10 years, and to achieve such feat in a title-winning season makes it even better.
Only three outfield players have played every single minute in a title-winning team, and the 27-year-old have joined the league of Terry, Wes Morgan and Garry Pallister on that elite list.
Azpilicueta is now the fourth outfield player to have played every minute of the game in a title-winning team.
Conte said of the defender: “It’s incredible to have a player playing every single minute in this league. Unbelievable.
“It means Azpi is a great player and a champion on, and off the pitch. When you do this and you haven’t an injury, you are able to play every single minute, it means you are great on and above all off the pitch. This is a great achievement for him.”
