Chelsea won a difficult game against Watford on Monday night, and the team for the first time since winning the league, celebrated with the home fans at the end of the game.

Cesar Azpilicueta, who has so far played every single minute of the Premier League this season, has admitted that the team deserves to celebrate with the fans after such an amazing season.

“It was our first game as champions so we knew it would be tough, and it was,” said the Spaniard.

“Even at 3-1 they didn’t give up and they pushed us until the end, but we showed great character and desire to win even though we’re already champions.

“This is the hardest league in the world to win and we did it in a very good way. Since November we’ve been top and playing with great consistency. We lost a few games but the team didn’t give up, we showed great character and that’s why we are where we are.

“We deserve to celebrate, we appreciate how difficult it is to win the league. Last Friday we were playing away, we celebrated with the away fans but it was also important to celebrate at Stamford Bridge, our home.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
