With Chelsea’s second-choice goalkeeper Asmir Begovic likely to leave at the end of the season and third-choice Eduardo’s contract expiring at the end of the season, there will be a goalkeeping vacuum for the Blues this summer.
19-year-old Latvian goalkeeper Reinis Reinhold, is currently on trial with Chelsea.
Reinholds arrived at Chelsea’s Cobham HQ earlier this week and has a few days to impress, according to Football.London.
He is out of contract at Racing Roma after joining the Lega Pro club on a short-term deal in December.
Reinholds, who kept four clean sheets in 19 league appearances, knows Chelsea’s goalkeeping coach Gianluca Spinelli.
In February, his agent Camillo Autieri said: “Chelsea is great club and English football is wonderful.
“I know the goalkeeper trainer in Chelsea, Gianluca Spinelli, and he is a big professional.
“Gianluca knows Reinis and for sure he could give a positive impression about him.”
Football.London report that Chelsea scouts had watched the Latvian playing for Racing Roma this season in the Italian third division, however brought him across to work with their coaches.
