Chelsea legends Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Eidur Gudjohnsen both joined Chelsea in the summer of 2000 and the pair enjoyed an almost telepathic understanding on the pitch.
The pair scored 52 goals in the 2001/02 season as Chelsea reached the FA Cup final.
Hasselbaink explains why his partnership with Gudjohnsen worked so well.
“They were the good old days, at the worst training ground in England,” Hasselbaink laughs.
“Because Eidur speaks Dutch we hit it off straight away. We stayed in the same hotel for the first two or three months because I’d come from abroad and he came from Bolton.
“Off the ball we knew exactly where each other were, on the ball I knew exactly where he was going to play it. On the pitch we used to speak Dutch, but sometimes we wouldn’t even need to speak.”
