Chelsea boss Antonio Conte led Chelsea to a Premier League title in his first attempt after Michy Batshuayi came off the bench to score the only goal of the game as Chelsea defeated West Brom 1-0 at The Hawthorns on Friday night.
Conte has been hailed as King of England by the Italian press after his achievements with Chelsea this season.
Below are the front pages of some of the major newspapers in Italy hailing Conte’s achievements:
Famous Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has Antonio Conte in its front page (with the Englsih flag in the background) with the caption “Conte oh yes!”
“He beats the WBA at the end of the game,” Gazzetta dello Sport continued, “and he conquers the title with the Blues at the first attempt”.
They also quote Conte as saying: “They followed me, we won”.
Another Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport hailed Conte as “special” in its front page and adds: “Premier made in Italy”.
“The former Italy boss conquers the title with Chelsea at the first try. After Ranieri another Italian,” the newspaper declared.
Another Italian newspaper Tuttosport also paid tribute to Conte in its front page with the caption “King Conte” and then adds “Yes, the Premier is ours!”
