Michy Batshuayi was a second-half substitute against West Brom, and he was the hero on the night as Chelsea beat Tony Pulis men by a lone goal at the Hawthorns.

West Brom came to spoil Chelsea’s party and frustrate Chelsea’s title dreams of wrapping up the title as early as possible. With the game looking likely to end in a goalless draw, Batshuayi popped up and scored the only goal of the game to give Chelsea the lead and the league.

Antonio Conte admitted that he was happy with the Belgian’s impact in the game.

He said: “It’s great, I’m pleased for him because we all know the difficulty he found in his first season. It’s not easy to play in this league. For him I’m pleased because he’s scored two goals, this one was very important for him and us. It’s great because it’s not easy in one moment to change the game. I did this to try to win and Michy repaid me a lot for my choice. Also Willian’s impact was very good. It means I trust my squad and this season we have had three competitions, league, FA Cup and Capital One Cup. For this reason certain players didn’t have a lot of time but they worked very hard, Michy is a great example. I’m very happy for him because to score a very important goal is great.”

Batshuayi hasn’t started a Premier League game yet, and this was just his second league goal of the season.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
