Baba Rahman has spent the season on loan at Schalke after failing to convince Chelsea manager Antonio Conte that he deserves to be in the Chelsea team for this season.
Conte deemed the Ghana international to be too attack minded and he was then shipped out on loan to Germany to improve.
The 22-year-old Ghanaian was bought during the summer of 2015 by Jose Mourinho for an initial fee of £14million rising to £22million, but has struggled to convince in a Chelsea shirt. It’s believed that Schalke still want the Ghanaian, who suffered a terrible injury during the African Cup of Nations back in January.
He is recovering from a serious knee injury picked up at the Africa Cup of Nations in January but will be back to full fitness by the time Chelsea begin their pre-season.
With Conte needing a bigger squad for a return to the Champions League next season, reports claim the full-back might get a second chance at Stamford Bridge during the pre-season.
