During his time as Italy boss, Antonio Conte revealed that he tried to meet with Arsene Wenger and his team but was snubbed. In early 2015 Conte, who was Italy’s head coach at the time, met up with Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham’s training base, while he also paid a visit to Chelsea and West Ham.

During short visit to England, Conte requested permission to watch one of Wenger’s training sessions, but it wasn’t granted him.

Conte speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the FA Cup final said: “I tried to contact Arsenal during my experience in England when I visited, Tottenham, West Ham and Chelsea, but they were very busy.

“I saw the game they lost against Monaco, but I didn’t have the chance to see Wenger to train, it wasn’t possible.

“For sure, when you stay at a team for a long team at a great team like Arsenal, we must consider him one of the best managers.

“When he won a lot, someone can forget this, but he is a great manager for me.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
