After Chelsea lost 3-0 to Arsenal back in September, rumours were rife that the Chelsea boss was going to be sacked.

However, Antonio Conte has revealed he was never worried about losing his job after that defeat. He insists that he was pleased to welcome Roman Abramovich to Cobham three days after the loss and said the owner gave him his full support.

“For sure when you arrive at a new club like Chelsea the expectations are high, Conte told the official Chelsea website.

“You have to be ready to face this moment. In this moment you see the right value of the coach, you can appreciate the reaction of the coach, if the coach is cold enough to find the moment to totally change the season.

“I was always very calm because I knew I was putting all my strength in this new job. With my staff we were working for the club and for the players. Then, during the season, anything can happen. The most important thing is that your soul and your heart is calm, and you give all of yourself.”
