Antonio Conte has had a very successful first season as Chelsea manager, but it wasn’t all rosy for the Italian, who’s just in his first season in the Premier League.
Conte endured a torrid start after losing to Liverpool and then suffered an embarrassing 3-0 defeat in the hands of Arsenal.
It spelled doom for the West London side, but Conte changed the team’s style of play and switched to a 3-4-3 system. Chelsea bounced back and the rest is history.
Conte revealed that he took a risk in changing the system, while also admitting that it’s in difficult times you see the worth of a manager.
Conte said: “At that stage it was difficult to imagine after Liverpool and Arsenal. I think I risked and trust in my job and idea and I think in this moment, difficult moment you can see the coach.
“When the situation is great and everything is good it is difficult to see your job. But when there is difficulty it shows the coach.”
