Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has injured the same ankle that caused him to miss Chelsea’s defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford last month according to a report by Evening Standard.
The Belgian shot-stopper hurt his right ankle again during Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over Everton on Sunday.
Courtois was limping in the second half of the match although he stayed on and finished the game. He was still in pain after the final whistle.
Courtois suffered the initial injury when he twisted his ankle after jumping to catch a basketball while shooting an advert on behalf of Chelsea for the NBA.
Courtois has time to recover from the injury as Chelsea’s next game is against Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge on Monday.
According to Evening Standard, Courtois is determined to play through the pain in Chelsea’s remaining fixtures to help Chelsea win the Premier League and FA Cup.
