Last season was a terrible one for the Chelsea family. The club didn’t just end in a lowly 10th position, but the Blues at a time flirted with relegation before the sack of Jose Mourinho

A lot of Chelsea players were criticised and opposition fans laughed at and ridiculed the club. But Antonio Conte came on board and brought a new swagger back to the club, and the team that was mocked at last season are now the Champions.

Speaking about that, Thibaut Courtois said: “We had a bad season. We had a lot of critics, everybody in the team, a lot of laughter at us. It’s not nice after a season when you won the league. Some of the criticism was deserved, some not, but to bounce back in this way, to be champions again and to have been top a long way, is amazing.

“They said we didn’t want to play anymore, that we are lazy, and that’s not true. We try to win our games and last year was just a one off, especially for a team like Chelsea with the players we have here. Everybody was hurt in their pride and that’s why we wanted to bounce back this season.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
