Chelsea completed the signing of N’Golo Kante from Leicester City last summer and the midfielder has gone on to help Chelsea win the league, winning the PFA and FWA Player of the Year awards in the process.
Technical director Michael Emenalo has revealed he sent Leicester City a bunch of flowers to say ‘thank you’, after Chelses signed Kante.
Emenalo even claimed the Blues players “hugged” the tireless midfielder after his first session as they knew they had a star on their hands.
Kante received his Football Writers’s Player of the Year award at the Landmark Hotel on Thursday night, where Emanalo addressed those in attendance, admitting his side got “lucky” with the signing.
“After Kante’s first training session with us the players hugged him and we sent Leicester flowers,” Emanalo added.
