Cesc Fabregas might not have started as much as he would have liked this season, but the Spaniard has been one of Chelsea’s most important players this season, and pundit Charlie Nicholas has admitted that the midfielder was influential in Chelsea’s title triumph.

“The other key ingredient was keeping Fabregas happy,” Charlie Nicholas said on Sky Sports.

“I think Cesc has probably moaned and groaned these last couple of seasons, he’s been drifting along, did he really want to sign for Chelsea? There seemed a doubt about that.

“But any time that he’s been asked to perform and asked to come off the bench he’s been stunning.

“His passing, his control, you can see the players as soon as he’s on the ball they’re on the move.

“He knows he can find the pass and his temperament is brilliant.

“Those two (Fabregas and Diego Costa) were not their best players this season but they were so influential in keeping everything smooth.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
