Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger must be envious of Antonio Conte’s success at Chelsea after seeing the Italian win the Premier League title in his first season in England.
Wenger has warned Conte that Chelsea will find it difficult in the Premier League next season with the addition of Champions League football.
Maybe someone needs to remind Wenger that Chelsea know how to handle being in both competitions as our last league triumph in 2015 was achieved despite Chelsea playing Champions League football that season.
Liverpool didn’t play Champions League football this season but struggled to compete for the Premier League so Wenger’s argument lacks merit.
“I congratulate Chelsea on what they’ve done, but you see as well when they play in Europe, it’ll be a different story,” Wenger said.
“I think we struggled a lot after what happened against Bayern, a big blow, but it was still possible at the moment we played Bayern to come back at Chelsea.
“They’ve done well but in the last two seasons the team that won the league hasn’t played in Europe.
“It’ll be a different season next year because they will have to play on Saturday-Wednesday-Saturday.”
