Like senior like junior. Chelsea senior team are aiming for a double this season and could wrap the league up with a win against West Ham on Friday. And for the U18 side, they have already won the FA Youth Cup and could win the league too on Friday.
Chelsea U18 and Arsenal U18 clashed on Tuesday evening at Cobham in what was a very significant game in the race to be youth league winners. The Gunners could have sealed the title with a first win at Cobham since 2011, while Chelsea needed a victory to wrestle back control in the title race ahead of their final game of the season later in the week.
Chelsea eventually won a very nervy contest at Cobham 3-1, a result which means the Blues leapfrogged Arsenal to the top of the elite merit group. A victory against Reading this Friday 12 May at Cobham will see our youngsters crowned national champions for the first time in 33 years and secure a remarkable Treble.
Chelsea will host Reading on Friday evening at Cobham, and a win will secure the league and a treble for the young Blues.
This season has indeed been a wonderful one for Chelsea, and on Friday, we could be in for double celebration.
