David Luiz made a sensational deadline day move to Chelsea, and to many, it was a bad deal for the Blues.

Luiz was remembered for this erratic defending and extravagant style during his first spell at Stamford Bridge.

However, the Brazilian has been a key player for Chelsea in defence and has won over all his critics.

He told Sky Sports: “Have I matured? You have to, and also as a person.

“I think the experience gives you many things, and yes, as a person and a footballer, you have to if you want to learn. If you are open every day.

“I read more of the game now, I can understand more of the game, it is a different pressure now with the big games.

“Many, many things. I think if you want to improve, you need to think you are a better player than you were.

“I’ve worked with six, seven, eight coaches, they have improved my game, different leagues and different countries.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
