There’s a reason players cover their mouth when talking on the pitch, because in this time, what they say is easily comprehended by media analysts.

Leicester City lost their crown to Chelsea on Friday, as the Blues defeated West Brom by a lone goal to confirm their status as Premier League champions.

Former champion Riyad Mahrez and his teammate Islam Slimani couldn’t help but talk about the newly crowned champions.

Manchester City hosted Leicester on Sunday, and ahead of kick-off at the Etihad Stadium French TV channel SFR Sport managed to record an intriguing snippet of Mahrez’s conversation with Islam Slimani.

Slimani told Mahrez en route to the changing rooms, “hey, Chelsea are champions”, following their 1-0 victory at West Brom on Friday night.

Mahrez responds, “They’re an incredible club, a real club.”

During last summer’s transfer window, Mahrez was reportedly linked with Chelsea, and this just shows that he probably was interested in the move.
