In the summer of 2015, Manchester United were favourites to land former Barcelona star Pedro Rodriguez, and with the deal being close to happening, Chelsea came like a thief in the night and hijacked the deal.
Now, James Rodiguez is reportedly on his way out of Real Madrid this summer to potentially sign for Manchester United, and United are claimed to be the favourites to sign the Colombian.
Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has insisted that United are the front-runners to sign Rodriguez from Los Blancos, but even some Manchester supporters are scared of Chelsea hijacking the deal.
“Manchester United are favourites to get James,” Balague told Sky Sports.
“He has decided to leave Real, who have three clubs ready to meet the asking price. One of them is United.
“I still say they are the top contenders to get him.”
Rodriguez has been linked with Chelsea, and while United are favourites for his signature, Chelsea fans seem confident that the Colombian will sign for the Blues, while United fans are worried.
Not getting too excited about the James news. Last time I got happy hearing a player is joining us, Pedro turned up in a chelsea shirt.

The Chelsea fans seemed pretty confident though.

Thought Chelsea were in for James. Hope they don't make the same mistake as last time. Big window needed.
