Venue: Stamford Bridge

It’s Match Day 38, but for Chelsea it’s a game where we get to lift the trophy.

The gulf in class between the two sides is very large, and it’s going to be 1st on the table vs 20th, with 66 points separating the two teams. Chelsea are top of the table with 90 points, while Sunderland are 20th with 24 points.

Another thing both sides have in common is that they cannot go beyond their current positions; Chelsea’s position as first has long been settled, and the same thing goes for Sunderland who have long held their fate as 20th on the log.

The Black Cats have been in terrible form this season, hence their relegation woes and in the past 13 games, the Black Cats won just once, drawn twice and lost 10. While Chelsea have been enjoying a rich vein of form; the Blues have won their last five league games in a row and have won 11 of their last 13 league games.

Chelsea beat Sunderland 1-0 at the Stadium of Light in the reverse fixture and the Blues have won three of the last six games against Sunderland, drawn two and lost just once. And Chelsea have won 20 of their last 24 games against Sunderland.

John Terry could make his 717th appearance for the Blues in his last game at Stamford Bridge as a player.

A win for Chelsea will also give the Blues the record of 30 league wins in a single season.

As expected, Conte will play a weakened side against David Moyes’ men.
