Michy Batshuayi was the match winner in Chelsea’s win against West Brom, and the unlikeliest of hero.
Batshuayi has never started a Premier League game, and he was brought on in the second-half, to which the Belgian took his chance with a goal that gave Chelsea the victory.
Cahill said of Batshuayi: “He’s done it with hard work and passion. He’s very intense in a good way. He drills us every day, tirelessly. We’ve all chipped in, we’ve all bought into it and he’s been fantastic.
“We spoke before the game today, these opportunities like this don’t come around every day and you have to grab them with both hands. He said to keep calm and play our football.
“He’s so passionate for us to win, but in certain situations he wants to have that calm. He said the same at half-time, maybe we were trying to force things and they made it very difficult, defended very well, got bodies behind the ball, so we had to be patient to break it down.”
