Back in October, after Chelsea trashed Manchester United 4-0 at Stamford Bridge, United hero Sir Alex Ferguson insisted that Chelsea wouldn’t win the league; he didn’t even put Chelsea in his top five teams at the time.
And now Chelsea are champions and deservedly so.
Still, Ferguson won’t give credit to the Blues. Rather, he has insisted that had it not been the numerous draws United had in the course of the season, that they’d have challenged Chelsea for the title.
“He’s [Mourinho] a very talented manager, no question,” the former United boss told Sky Sports.
“I think United have done really well. I think with the draws, they’ve played really well in a lot of those draws.
“If even six of those draws turned to wins, that’s 12 points, and they’d have been up there.
“Hopefully we can start winning things, because I’m sure that’s what [Jose] wants.”
