A win for Tottenham against West Ham on Friday night would have reduced the gap from four points to just one, adding massive pressure on Chelsea.
But it wasn’t to be, as the Hammers indeed hammered Spurs title hopes with a 1-0 win against the North London club.
It has been revealed that Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic texted Hammers boss Slaven Bilic before his team took on Tottenham on Friday night.
Bilic told Sport Klub that Matic had said in his message: “If you stop Tottenham, I’ll take you out to dinner.”
Bilic then went on to say: “Matic is a wonderful guy, a great player.
“I will accept that [offer] with pleasure.”
