Reports claim Chelsea target Alvaro Morata has rejected an offer from the Chinese Super League, with Spanish paper Marca claiming the Real Madrid striker would earn £29.4million a season if he accepts a move to the Asian league.
Morata has been playing second-fiddle to Karim Benzema at the Bernabeu much to his frustration but has still managed to score 20 goals this season.
Reports claim the former Juventus striker is keen on a reunion with Antonio Conte who brought him to Turin, and Conte will also prefer a move for the Spaniard over Romelu Lukaku who has also been linked with Chelsea.
Morata is keen to start for Spain in next summer’s World Cup which could see him fight for a move out of Madrid.
Despite the offer from China, Morata has no intention of leaving Real for a stint in Asia, Marca reports.
What could account for more a decision is Chelsea’s continued interest in his signature with Antonio Conte desperate to bring him back under his tutelage having signed the forward for Juventus, and Morata must decide on the uncertainty over game time in Madrid or gamble on another move, Roberto Gómez of Marca reports.
