‘Captain, leader and legend’ is a title all too familiar with Chelsea captain John Terry. The 36-year-old has been at the club since he was 14 and he went on to become the greatest captain in the history of Chelsea Football Club and one of the best defenders the Premier League has ever seen.
Since he suffered an injury in the early part of the season, the team couldn’t do without the captain before Antonio Conte employed a three at the back formation to bring Chelsea back to winning ways. He lost his shirt after that, but he never lost his love.
The Chelsea captain was brought in against Middlesbrough and the Chelsea faithful couldn’t help but adore their captain, leader and legend.
Terry posted a video on his instagram page to thank Chelsea fans for the reception he got.
The video shows the 36-year-old hugging Antonio Conte before coming on the pitch to a brilliant ovation from the Stamford Bridge crowd.
Terry captioned the video: “715 appearances @chelseafc. Words can never truly describe what Chelsea FC and you supporters mean to me. I LOVE YOU ALL. Incredible reception. THANK YOU.”
