It’s just four games until the end of the season, and we still top the league table with 81 points. Over the weekend, we impressively passed our last stern test (on paper) against Everton convincingly.

It wasn’t easy at first, but a stunning Pedro strike set the tone for a fluid second half display from us. With that victory, we still lead Spurs by 4 points, as they have 77 points. Everton was the only remaining difficult game for us, and passing it should mean that we can go into our remaining fixtures with some relative comfort.

However, seeing as Tottenham demolished Arsenal on Sunday, we can’t rest just yet until the end of the season proper. We have 4 more games to go, and while they are winnable fixtures, we cannot just confidently think we can win them all because they’re not ‘big’ teams.

We have to go into those fixtures with the same level of preparedness and resolve as we did the Tottenham and Everton games. Tottenham are still very hot on our heels and they’ll quickly close the gap to a single point if we drop one. We have to keep going until the end.

There’s no room for relaxation. There’s no room to take anything for granted. Conte and his boys have to see this fight out until the end. Tottenham appear ready to go all the way, and we must show them we’re ready to defend our lead until the last day. So while we can be happy we have one hand on the league already, it’s important to also remember that the battle is still very much on, and it’s ours to lose.

What makes him perfect for this blog? He lives for Chelsea FC, in fact, I heard he sat in the middle of a road, and refused to go home after that bitter loss to Barcelona in 2009. Haha.
