Chelsea just need to win their next three games and the Premier League will be a wrap irrespective of what happens in Tottenham’s fixtures.
Nathan Ake got his first Premier League appearance for Chelsea this season against Everton on Sunday, but isn’t eligible to get a league medal yet.
He came on for David Luiz who suffered an injury in the game.
According to league rules, a player must have played at least five matches in the Premier League for that club in order to get a medal.
However, with four league games left, all Ake has to do to get a medal is to feature in all four remaining games.
Antonio Conte can help the 22-year-old by featuring him in the last four games and he’d get a medal. If he fails to feature in any, he won’t be eligible to get a medal.
Conte was indeed happy with the performance of the Dutchman, and had so many positive things to say about him.
“He came on and I think he looks a veteran and it is great,” Conte said.
“He is only a young player that started to play for two years, Watford and Bournemouth, and now is showing great commitment, work-rate, concentration when I ask him to play. It is great for him.
“It is not easy to be used to play every game for Bournemouth and to arrive for Chelsea and stay on the bench and sometimes understand.
“But I think he understood I trust him because I put him in the [FA Cup] semi-final against Tottenham. I put him now in a very important moment for us.”
