Chelsea defeated Everton 3-0 at Goodison Park on Sunday to ensure we maintain our four-point advantage over Tottenham.
Ex-Chelsea player Clive Walker revealed after the game that Chelsea are top of the league because we have individuals who can produce at any given moment and Pedro was one of such individuals who stepped up against Everton on Sunday.
“It was always going to be tough at Everton so we had to be patient, but we’re top of the league for a reason and that’s because we have individuals who can produce at any given moment. On the day, we needed someone like Pedro to step up,” Walker wrote on Chelsea’s official website.
“His goal came at a time in the game when we needed a spark, something special, and Pedro gave us that.
“His enthusiasm is infectious, and having those sort of players in the team pulls you through on bad days and lifts your game. He is so well balanced and his foot-work and trickery, at pace, are so good I’m still not sure which foot is his strongest. For us to score at that stage gave Everton a mountain to climb, it was a great goal.
“Pedro is non-stop, even when he’s not involved he is involved and, as a defender, you simply cannot take your eyes off him because he is so lively.
“He’s forced his way into the team this season and is in there on merit. He’s got 12 goals which is a good return, he’s chipped in to help the team.
“He’s very positive in terms of what he wants to achieve, not only individually, but for the club. This is all about winning the Premier League. It’s been a real team effort this season and yesterday Pedro shone.”
