Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has blamed Arsenal’s away form as the reason why the Gunners failed to challenge Chelsea for the title.
Arsenal are 18 points behind Chelsea and now face the prospect of missing out on Champions League football next season if Liverpool beat Middlesbrough at Anfield on the final day of the season.
When asked where Arsenal got it wrong in the title race, Wenger said: “We won more games than last year because we already have one point more than last year.
“We have gone through a difficult period away from home, because I think at home if you look at our record it’s quite good.
“We have lost three away games recently that we shouldn’t have lost – at West Brom just before the international break, and after at Crystal Palace.
“But overall it’s away from home that we have lost our chances to win the championship.
“At home, our record is decent.”
