With the league title secured, and the campaign ebbing out, the one thing on the mind of managers is transfers. For Conte, strengthening his winning squad is a priority, if he intends to at least, repeat the same feat next season. He has to buy, but in buying, he must also go for the very best.

As we go into transfer season, it’s not just about buying, we also must know who to keep, because honestly, there isn’t a player worth discarding from our current squad. Unless a player wants to leave, I don’t see much happening in terms of outgoing players. The only player that continues to leave uncertainty around his Chelsea future is Diego Costa. Since he has neither denied nor confirmed rumours he’ll leave for China, we have to be ready for anything.

Already, Conte has his sight set on 2 young, yet talented strikers. Alvaro Morata and Romelu Lukaku are both young and potent in front of goal, and they’re strongly linked with a move to Chelsea. It’s not clear who the coach prefers, because they’re both good, but with Lukaku’s experience in English football, and seeing as he is desperate for European football, snapping him up may be easier. The only obstacle may be his asking price. The player is estimated at €100million by Everton; a fee Roman may not be willing to shell out.

Morata, on the other hand should cost between €50 and €60million. Roman wouldn’t have a problem with that, but would Real Madrid be willing to let him go. He’s still very young, and he plays like the finished good. In only 13 league starts, he’s scored more than 12 goals for the Spanish side. Morata seems like the player we should go for, but it depends on if Madrid are willing to sell. Even if they do, they might end up roping Hazard into the negotiations. Zidane has had his eyes set on Eden Hazard for ages, and might see a move for Morata as an opportunity to snap up his long term target.

Of course, we know we can’t let that happen. If we’re going to compete favorably in Europe and England next season, we need all the best hands we can get. Hazard is too good an asset to lose, even if it means letting go of Morata. The next transfer window opens soon, but I hope that whatever they do, our transfer team and Conte make the right decisions, because what happens in the summer will to a large extent affect our coming campaign.

I really wish Morata be recruited next season and be part of the team. He is talented, he is very friendly with back nets.
