The summer transfer window is under 2 months away, and clubs are gearing up to make the necessary acquisitions and additions ahead of next season. Obviously, Chelsea too will be looking to add a number of names to its ranks.

So far, Lukaku seems to be the only player strongly linked with Chelsea, but even that deal doesn’t look like it’s going to happen considering the numbers being quoted by Everton. We have also been linked with a few other players, but Lukaku is the most frequent.

Buying as we all know, usually comes with a corresponding sale from the acquiring team in order to balance the books. If Chelsea do buy this coming transfer window, it’s very likely that we’ll be letting go of some players too. Willian has been tremendous for us since he came, however, his place in the team hasn’t been guaranteed ever since he lost his mother. He is already a top target for a host of big teams, but I don’t see why we shouldn’t keep him. He has not failed to live up to his billing for a number of seasons now, and I think he has to stay.

If Willian leaves us, it’s very likely he’ll go to Man Utd, considering how much he likes England. Of course, you know he’s very talented, so I don’t really need to say how potentially dangerous such a move would be. He’s going to add so much to that team, while we miss him.

It’s difficult to continue to successfully tie players like Willian and Pedro down, but the truth is, we need them around for what they bring to the table. In Willian, our attack is more deadly than ever, and we have great attacking options. If he’s sold, we’ll be losing an important personality.

Also, looking ahead, next season wouldn’t be like this season. It was so easy for Antonio Conte to play almost the same lineup each game because we weren’t in many competitions and we have to admit that we had a slice of luck with injury. None of our players had long-term injuries, and our key players only missed one game when injured or on suspension. With Chelsea playing in Europe next season, it wouldn’t be so and we’d need all the quality legs we can get. A player of Willian’s quality will easily be worth £50 million in today’s transfer window, and we can see why Jose Mourinho is intent on landing the Chelsea winger.

It’s quite difficult for a player of his calibre to be on the bench even when he’s playing well, but we all know that Pedro has been immense since October. I really hope Conte finds a means to dissuade him from leaving and make him feel important for next season because trust me, we don’t want to lose a figure like him again.
