Italian club Inter Milan were linked with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte but the rumours have ended after Conte insisted he wants to continue as Chelsea boss and the Italians made Luciano Spalletti their new boss.
According to The Sun, Chelsea are negotiating a new contract with Conte as the Blues look to keep the Italian beyond 2019 but Conte won’t sign a new contract until he knows he has the backing of the board in his dispute with Costa.
Conte wants Costa out of Chelsea but The Sun claim some persons in the board still want Costa at Chelsea.
An earlier report by The Sun claimed Roman Abramovich has backed Conte in his dispute with Costa so this should be enough backing for the Italian.
When Conte was asked about his own future last month, he said: “I have a contract with Chelsea for two more years.
“It’s logical that, when you start the work in a new club, the will is to continue to work and improve your work for many years.”
