Barcelona need to sign a right-back during the transfer window and the Blaugrana have targeted Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta.
The Spaniard capped off a wonderful season for the Blues, playing in every single minute of the just concluded campaign, which shows his importance as Chelsea went on to win the Premier League.
Barca want to strengthen their right-back position as Sergi Roberto has not always convinced in the position and Azpilicueta is reportedly among the players on their shortlist.
Azpilicueta’s stats have been impressive this season and the Blaugrana chiefs are said to be impressed with his style of play. He has supplied four assists this season and completed 87 percent of his passes.
Reports claim Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez has begun talks to find out Azpilicueta’s situation. But of course, they know that Chelsea will not be letting go of the 27-year-old anytime soon. He signed a new contract in December that will keep him at the club till he’s 30, and the Daily Mail claim Chelsea are confident of keeping him.
